We can scan your paper documents and store them in a secure password-protected database that you, your co-council and your experts can access remotely from anywhere. Or we can provide a CD with thousands of .TIF or .PDF images ready for your viewer. Your entire case could conceivable fit in your pocket or briefcase. We can also supply a hard-copy set with matching embedded Bates numbers, proprietary information or any custom text you need. If you use litigation-support software (i.e. Summation, Ipro, Concordance) we will provide the appropriate text and load files.
We can scan and print your project with a Bates number embedded in any of six points on the page, with or without a custom prefix. E-labels offer many benefits over traditional stickers or rubber stamps. Page corners will not be fanned, numbers can’t be skipped or duplicated, the number is always in the same place and text will never be covered up. Unlike stamps, embedded numbers will remain legible even after numerous generations of copies. If you also need your project on CD, the image key on the screen can match the printed number. Custom annotation can be added, such as “Confidential”, the name of the case or any coded field. Also, this technology allows us to offer E-labeling at a much lower price than traditional numbering.
After we scan your originals, we can build a database for your litigation-support software with a number of searchable fields, including Beginning and Ending Document Numbers, Document Type, Date, Author, Recipient and/or Subject. These fields can be customized to meet your specific needs.
OCR is Optical Character Recognition. We can OCR your scanned documents and provide a searchable index for your litigation-support software containing the full text of every page of your project.
We can convert electronic e-mail, transcript files, Power Point Presentations, Office documents or image files into .TIF’s or .JPG’s for your Windows viewer or litigation-support software. We can also create .PDF’s for your Adobe Acrobat Reader. We can include any embedded number or text and supply a hard-copy set of all your electronic files.
After scanning and coding, we can provide an electronic or hard-copy Index of your case reflecting and cross-referencing document sources, image keys, coded fields and more.
If your firm is like most, you have boxes of documents stacked to the ceiling somewhere. We can electronically “crush” the volume of paperwork in storage by scanning your documents to CD or storing them in a secure password-protected database that you or your out-of-town partners can access remotely. From a few boxes to a warehouse, we can drastically reduce your need for expensive storage space.
A Key Evidence representative will confirm the specifications for your project, including starting numbers, file formats and coding options. In addition, a Key Evidence Digital Imaging Specialist will be available to assist with the technical specifications and support.
